Somtimes a mower just isn't worth fixing. So if you are looking for a new mower, look no further. Many people out there buy their first lawnmower from a place like Sears or The Home Depot. If you were thinking about this, please listen. ALL YOU WILL DO IS MAKE ME TONS OF MONEY BY GETTING IT REPAIRED UNTIL HELL FREEZES!!!! Mower Companies like Scotts, Dynamark, Sears, Murray, Rally, etc. are notorious of making bad mowers. They all use cheap plastic wheels, polluting side valve engines, junk bolts, plastic bearings, crappy - rust prone steel decks, etc. They always were, and always will be bad, bad, mowers Now, if you want to make a good investment, LISTEN UP!! Many good mower companies are out there, like Gravely (my personal favorite), Ariens, New Holland John Deere, Cub Cadet, Lawn Boy, Toro, and BCS. (Be careful with Snapper and Husquvarna, they use so many engines, decks and trannies its hard to name all the good models and the bad models) These have always been reputable companies and have had rather few complaints about them. Case in Point- My neighbor and I both bought new mowers in the spring of 96'. He chose a crappy Murray, while I put down a few bills for a John Deere 14SB. ( unfortunately not made anymore- a terrible shame!) Three years later, My John Deere has need only 4 quarts of oil, blade sharpening, and new spark plug. About $25.00 My neighbors Murray, haha, needed 3 trips to another shop, and one to mine. I believe he spent $180.00 in service on a $200.00 mower. He gave up and bought a Lawn Boy - hasn't been any shop yet! CHOOSE WISELY - YOU CAN GET KICKED IN THE ASS (and wallet) IF YOU SCREW UP!! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
